Forwards Akim Aliu and Fredrik Pettersson lit the lamp for Chicago in the first period.
Chicago (6-10-1-0) opened scoring when Aliu drove the puck down the left side of the ice and backhanded a shot past Texas goaltender Richard Bachman, top shelf, 9:43 into the first period.
Texas (8-6-0-0) tied the score, 1-1, 14:31 into the first frame when forward Greg Rallo redirected a shot at the crease past Chicago goaltender Drew MacIntyre, stick side.
Chicago took the 2-1 lead with 2:27 remaining in the opening period when Pettersson took a pass from center Andre Deveaux in the paint to tap the puck past Bachman and over the goal line.
Bachman (3-2-0) blocked 26 shots for the Stars.
Texas left wing Francis Wathier shot on the power-play from the point through traffic tied the score, 2-2, 7:51 into the second period.
The Stars scored again on the power-play 39 seconds after, grabbing the 3-2 lead when center Travis Morin fired a shot from the slot past MacIntyre, glove side.
Left wing Luke Gazdic wrapped around the back of the goal and slid the puck past MacIntyre to double Texas’ lead 4-2, 12:36 into the second period.
The Stars made the score 5-2, 15:06 into the middle frame, with a power-play goal when right wing Tomas Vincour popped the puck in the net from the paint.
Center Mathieu Tousignant put home a rebound on the power-play 33 seconds later to extend the Stars lead to 6-2.
The Stars increased to a 7-2 lead, 17:38 into the second period with a power-play goal from Aaron Gagnon’s shot from behind the goal line into the empty net.
Vincour closed out scoring for Texas with 1:41 remaining in the game when he wrsited a shot past Wolves goaltender Peter Mannino who replaced MacIntyre after 40 minutes of play.
MacIntyre (0-3-0) posted 21 saves in 40 minutes of action while Mannino recorded five saves in 20 minutes of relief duty.
The Wolves wrap up their season-high eight-game road trip against the Houston Aeros at the Toyota Center on Wed., Nov. 17 at 7 p.m.
